VITEBSK, 4 May (BelTA) – The Vitebsk oblast philharmonic will present a new concert program for veterans of the Great Patriotic War dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the Great Victory, BelTA learnt from the art director of the philharmonic, Nelli Matsaberidze. All vocalists and artistic groups of the philharmonic have prepared new concert programs for the 9 May celebrations. They will tour the regions of the oblast and also the neighboring Smolensk oblast. The new repertoire is based on the songs which were popular during the war and also new songs composed specially for the Victory Day celebrations. The 21st concert season at the oblast philharmonic has opened under the motto of the Victory Day, Nelli Matsaberidze said. The philharmonic conducts charity concerts and provides assistance to public veteran organizations. The program will culminate in the big concert on 9 May featuring all artistic collectives of the philharmonic. The main idea is to express gratitude to the veterans. The soloists of the philharmonic Oksana Novikova, Piotr Belius and Leonid Kozharsky will take part in an official reception for veterans at the oblast executive committee. The Talaka dance and song company will give a concert in the town of Vyazma, Smolensk oblast. Admission to all the concerts will be free for veterans and participants of the Great Patriotic War.
