Truck throughput of Lithuanian, Polish checkpoints at Belarusian border below agreed numbers

In the last 24 hours not a single Lithuanian and Polish border crossing has processed the number of trucks coming from Belarus that bilateral agreements specify, BelTA has learned.

In the last 24 hours not a single Lithuanian and Polish border crossing has processed the number of trucks coming from Belarus that bilateral agreements specify, BelTA has learned.

According to the State Border Committee of Belarus, it is the main reason behind a congestion of semi-trailer trucks in front of Belarusian border checkpoints.

Bilateral agreements specify how many trucks a border checkpoint is supposed to let through over a certain period of time. The lowest percentage was registered in the Polish border checkpoint Bobrowniki (Berestovitsa on the Belarusian side) while the highest was registered in the Lithuanian border checkpoint Salcininkai (the Benyakoni checkpoint on the Belarusian side) – 86.4% of the number of trucks the sides have agreed on.

According to the source, trucks left Belarus for Ukraine and Latvia without delays in the last 24 hours. The relevant agreements with these countries were fulfilled in full.
