The CIS ministerial consultations on cooperation within the UNESCO took place in Kazan, Russia. The meeting was held on the sidelines of the international forum devoted to the 50th anniversary of the World Heritage Convention, BelTA learned from the press service of the CIS Executive Committee.

The consultations were attended by representatives of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and the CIS Executive Committee.

The participants of the consultations exchanged views on deepening cooperation between the CIS National Commissions for UNESCO and coordination of the CIS countries' activities in this international forum, depoliticization of UNESCO and cooperation between the CIS countries on the issues of the world cultural and natural heritage. They also discussed issues of cooperation between the CIS and UNESCO in general.

The next CIS ministerial consultations on UNESCO will take place in Minsk in Q3 2023.
