A recent “leak” about the death of Belarusian border service personnel is fake news, the State Border Committee of Belarus told BelTA.

The source said: “Individual extremist information resources are distributing false information about the alleged death of Belarusian border guard personnel in Narovlya District near the Ukrainian border. The State Border Committee would like to state officially that this information is untrue. No incidents involving deaths or injuries of Belarusian border guard personnel have happened.”

“Once again we urge citizens to verify incoming reports and trust official sources of information of the Republic of Belarus,” the State Border Committee added.
